PriceHUD vs QuickComps
These two are closer in scope than any other pair on this site. Both are Pokémon only, both cover Japanese cards, both stop charging you for a read that fails. The difference is the screen. QuickComps is a Chrome side panel and its own FAQ says it does not work on mobile. PriceHUD runs on the phone you are already watching the stream on.
Competitor pricing and install counts read 2026-09-01. Vendors change these. Check before you buy. PriceHUD's own details updated 2026-10-14.

What QuickComps does that PriceHUD does not
- A 30-day trend arrow beside the price. PriceHUD shows you today's number and nothing about the direction it came from.
- A liquidity readout, which the vendor describes as knowing how often a card is actually selling. On a card you intend to resell, that is arguably more useful than the price itself, and PriceHUD has no equivalent.
- An LP value alongside the NM average, so a played copy gets its own number instead of a mental haircut off the NM price.
- A holo and non-holo toggle, which the vendor added because, in its own words, "AI identification isn't always accurate with holos". PriceHUD gives you no manual override of that kind.
- Separate "Scan Raw" and "Scan Slab" modes.
What PriceHUD does that QuickComps does not
- It works on a phone. This is the whole difference. QuickComps states plainly that it does not, and offers to email you an install link for later instead.
- It has a free tier. $0 for 100 priced cards a month. QuickComps has no free tier; the cheapest way to see a price is $7/month after a 5-day trial that requires a card.
- It works on three live platforms rather than one. QuickComps is Whatnot only. PriceHUD's iPhone app reads Whatnot, eBay Live and TikTok Live. Its Chrome extension, like QuickComps, is Whatnot only.
- It shows a break-even bid with fees, supplies and shipping already applied.
- It is read-only. PriceHUD reads pixels on your own screen. It never touches the auction app, your account or any API, never bids, and automates nothing.
Not a difference: a read that fails is free on both. QuickComps says scans count only when a card is successfully identified; PriceHUD says failed reads never count. Nobody should pick between these two on that basis.

QuickComps. Four monthly tiers, all metered by scans per day: Base at $7 for 25 scans a day, Pro at $10 for 60 a day and labelled "MOST POPULAR" by the vendor, Power at $20 for 130 a day, and Power Plus at $49.99 for 300 a day. The trial is 5 days at 10 scans a day, requires a card, and converts to Base automatically. The vendor states "All sales are final." There is no free tier and no annual plan.
PriceHUD. Free is $0 with 100 priced cards a month. Scanner is $12.99/month for 1,500 priced cards, and a read that fails never counts against the total. A $4.99 one-time top-up adds 500 more cards and requires Scanner. There is no free trial, no lifetime deal and no weekly plan.
The meters differ in shape. QuickComps caps you per day, so a heavy Saturday hits the ceiling even in a quiet month. PriceHUD caps you per month, so a heavy Saturday is fine but a heavy month is not. Count your own buying before you assume one is cheaper.
A note on the numbers you will see quoted
QuickComps' Chrome listing showed 142 users on 2026-09-01. That is an install count, not a count of paying customers. This page does not quote a QuickComps star rating, because the listing carried a single rating and one rating is not a verdict on anything.
What this page deliberately does not claim
QuickComps names its price sources and PriceHUD names its own, but no head-to-head test of the two has been run, so this page makes no claim about which is more accurate, faster, or deeper on any set. The comparison above is about where each tool runs, what it costs and what it shows.
Which one fits you
If you buy at a desk with the stream in one pane, QuickComps gives you more per card than PriceHUD does: a trend arrow, a liquidity readout, an LP number and a manual holo override. If you buy from the couch with your phone, QuickComps has told you itself that it is not for you, and that is exactly the case PriceHUD exists to serve.
Free tier is 100 priced cards a month. Scanner is $12.99/month. On iPhone, download PriceHUD from the App Store, live since 2026-09-20. On desktop, install the PriceHUD Chrome extension, live on the Chrome Web Store since 2026-09-15. One account and one monthly count work on both. The iPhone app needs a Dynamic Island: iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max, or any iPhone 15, 16, 17 or Air, on iOS 17.2 or later. On an older iPhone the price lands on the Lock Screen instead. There is no Android build yet. The free web lookup at pricehud.com/lookup needs no app at all. More answers: the PriceHUD FAQ.
