What PriceHUD does
PriceHUD prices trading cards it sees on your screen during a screen broadcast you start, and shows those prices back to you. Sellers can also mark a show with Start and Stop in the Chrome extension, for a report the next morning and, on accounts with recording on, a recording of that show. Everything below follows from it.
What we collect, and why
- Screen and camera frames. While you run a broadcast, up to about two downscaled screenshots a second are sent to the PriceHUD server to identify the card on screen, fewer when nothing changes. The iPhone app's Show tab sends frames from the rear camera the same way while you have pricing started there, and pressing the Action Button sends one screenshot of what is on screen at that moment. Frames are kept for up to 30 days so we can check and improve card recognition, then deleted. A small set may be kept longer as a test set for measuring recognition accuracy. Frames never carry audio. Nothing is sent while you are not pricing: no broadcast running, the Show tab not started, no Action Button press.
- Show recordings. When you press Start show in the Chrome extension on your own Whatnot Seller Hub page, and your account has recording on, the extension records the show's video as that page plays it, with its sound only if the page plays sound, and uploads it to the PriceHUD server in 10-second pieces until you press Stop, or until the tab has been quiet for 30 minutes. It records nothing else: not other tabs or windows, not your screen, camera or microphone, and never a show you watch as a viewer. The next morning the recording is moved to Google Drive, where PriceHUD stores it, and your show report links to it. Anyone you give that link to can open the recording. PriceHUD deletes it 30 days later.
- Card identification. Frames may be processed by a third-party vision model solely to identify the card: Anthropic's; Google's Gemini, through Google's Gemini API; or an open model (Qwen3-VL) hosted by Parasail. Google and Parasail are reached through OpenRouter, which sends each request only to providers that do not train on it. Each provider's API terms govern that processing, including how long a request is kept, and frames are not used to train models.
- Usage data. Card lookups, the prices shown to you, and sale prices observed in streams you watch are stored against your account to power your history and price comparisons.
- Account. Your email address and a hashed password, plus a key for each device you sign in on. We store no name, no contacts, and no payment card. Chrome purchases go through RevenueCat Web Billing with Stripe as the card processor, and PriceHUD stores only which plan you are on and your RevenueCat customer id. App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple; PriceHUD learns only which plan or card pack was bought, through RevenueCat.
- App interactions. In the iPhone app, what you open and tap around plans, referrals and the island: opening the Plan screen or a purchase sheet and what opened it, starting, finishing, cancelling or failing a purchase, the first-run welcome, the first screen and the signup form (including which field needed fixing, never what you typed), the stream summary, opening a notification or the island at the month's limit, sharing or copying your referral code and whether a friend's code applied, Restore, Redeem and Manage subscription taps, a rating request being shown and the Rate row, the Action Button help, and the currency you pick. Taps made before you have an account wait on your phone and are sent only once you create one. It is stored against your account on our own server so we can see which parts of the app work. It is never sold, never shared with an advertising network, and never used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Turn it off in the app under Settings > Privacy > Share app usage. Separately, every request from the app carries the app's version, and signing in records your phone's model (such as iPhone17,1, not the name you gave the phone), so we can support older versions and see which phones use the app.
- Referrals. If you join with a friend's code, or add one later, we record which account invited yours so both of you can get the bonus cards. Neither of you is shown the other's email.
- Where you heard about PriceHUD. Right after you create an account, the app asks once where you heard about PriceHUD (the Chrome extension asks the same on its options page). The one-word answer, and the seller's name if you choose to type one for a Whatnot stream, is stored with your account on our own server so we can see which channels bring collectors. Skip leaves it blank. It is never shared or used to track you.
- Website visits. Page views on pricehud.com are counted in aggregate with no cookie and nothing tied to a person. Where a visit arrived from is kept in your own browser and sent with a signup so we know which channel it came from. Detail in the next section.
Your email and this website
If you entered your email on this site, we hold the address, the moment you entered it, and whether you used the form at the top or bottom of the page. We also record where the visit came from: the referring site, any campaign or ad-click tag in the link you clicked, and your browser's user agent. That is how we tell a TikTok signup apart from a Discord one. It sits in your browser's own local storage, so a visit today and a signup next week still count as the same source. The address is used to send you the App Store link or the extension sign-in, and occasional PriceHUD updates. It is not sold, shared, rented, or added to any other list.
We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics. Vercel hosts this site and processes the counts on our behalf. It sets no cookies, does not follow you to other websites, and builds no profile of you. What we see is totals: how many people opened a page, roughly which country, on what kind of device. We do not see who you are, and this is the only analytics on the site. There are no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers.
The Chrome extension
The PriceHUD extension for Chrome works the same way as the app, on the Whatnot tab you already have open. When you press its hotkey or start its watch mode, it captures a downscaled image of that tab and sends it to the PriceHUD server to identify the card, the same as a broadcast frame and with the same retention. It reads the listing title and price shown on the page so the price it returns matches the lot. While a show you started runs on your own Seller Hub page, it also sends the text of that page's show panels (the listing, its timer and status, and the latest activity, which can include buyers' Whatnot usernames, but never the chat), up to 2 KB every 20 seconds, so your morning report can tell what sold; with recording on, it records that show as described above. It makes no request to Whatnot or any other site itself, never posts, bids or clicks on your behalf, and keeps only your settings, your account key and the current show's numbers in Chrome's local extension storage. It collects no browsing history.
What we never do
- Access your Whatnot, eBay or TikTok account, or any other account, or act on your behalf in any app.
- Place bids, post in chat, or automate anything on another platform.
- Sell or rent your data, or show your data to other users. The only companies that touch it are the ones running the service for us, and this policy names each of them.
- Keep screen frames or show recordings longer than 30 days, other than the frame test set above.
Retention and deletion
History and price comparisons are kept while your account is active. Delete your account from Settings inside the app, or email adrian@autoquillai.com from your sign-in address. Removal from the email list works the same way. Deleting removes your login and password, your preferences and your referral link at once, signs out every device, and takes your name off any referral record (the friend on the other side keeps the cards they earned). Some records are kept under the account's internal short id, which is made from the start of your email address, for accounting, security and fraud prevention: the usage ledger of card reads, the app interactions above, sign-in attempts, and purchase and refund events from Apple or RevenueCat. Screen and camera frames, and show recordings, are deleted on their own 30-day schedule, whether or not the account still exists. An App Store subscription is billed by Apple and keeps renewing until you cancel it in your App Store settings; deleting the PriceHUD account does not cancel it.
Your controls
- Stop the screen broadcast at any time from Control Center or the red status indicator; pause the Show tab; nothing is sent while you are not pricing.
- Stop a show in the Chrome extension (the show chip on the price panel, Alt+Shift+S, or the popup) and its recording stops with it.
- Sign out on any device to revoke that device's key.
- Hide the price overlay from inside the app without stopping the broadcast.
- Turn off app interaction data in the iPhone app under Settings > Privacy > Share app usage, and the monthly low-card notice under Settings > Account.
Children
PriceHUD is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top moves.
