PriceHUD vs Cardikyu

Cardikyu is the deepest card-identification tool in this comparison and the only one with a purchase ledger attached. It is also a paid beta that runs in Chrome, with no phone path and no free tier. PriceHUD is narrower, free to start, and runs on the phone you are already watching the stream on.

Competitor pricing and install counts read 2026-09-01. Vendors change these. Check before you buy. PriceHUD's own details updated 2026-10-14.

What Cardikyu does that PriceHUD does not

What PriceHUD does that Cardikyu does not

Pricing, read 2026-09-01

Cardikyu. The vendor labels its pricing "Beta pricing" and its own FAQ answers the obvious question with "Are beta prices permanent? We don't know yet." As of 2026-09-01: Plus at $5/month or $50/year with 250 credits a day; Pro at $20/month or $200/year with 1,000 credits a day plus everything experimental. Boost credits are $3 for +500, $7 for +1,500, $20 for +5,000, and never expire. A single scan costs 1 credit, a multi-card page costs 5, and hourly pacing caps apply on top of the daily number. The trial runs 7 days and does not ask for a card. There is no free tier. No refund policy was found either way, which is not the same as there being none, so read the terms before you subscribe.

PriceHUD. Free is $0 with 100 priced cards a month. Scanner is $12.99/month for 1,500 priced cards, and a read that fails never counts against the total. A $4.99 one-time top-up adds 500 more cards and requires Scanner. There is no free trial, no lifetime deal and no weekly plan.

The two meters are not directly comparable. Cardikyu gives you a daily allowance that resets and can be topped up permanently; PriceHUD gives you a monthly allowance. Which is cheaper depends entirely on whether you buy in long sessions a few nights a month or a little every day.

A note on the numbers you will see quoted

Cardikyu's Chrome listing showed 271 users on 2026-09-01. That is an install count for the whole extension, not a count of paying customers and not a count of anyone on a particular tier. The prices above are the vendor's beta prices on that date and the vendor has said it does not know whether they will hold.

What this page deliberately does not claim

Cardikyu names no price feed, so this page makes no claim about whose prices are deeper or fresher. Cardikyu states that it identifies a card "in less than a second"; nothing comparable was measured for PriceHUD and neither product was independently timed, so this page makes no speed comparison. No head-to-head identification test exists between these two products, so there is no accuracy claim here either. Whether Cardikyu covers Japanese cards is not recorded either way.

Which one fits you

If you buy on a desktop and you want the deepest readout available on a card, its variant, its condition ladder, its population and what you paid for it last time, Cardikyu is doing more per card than PriceHUD is. If you watch on your phone, or you want to see prices before you spend anything, Cardikyu has no answer for either and PriceHUD does.

Get PriceHUD on the App Store

Free tier is 100 priced cards a month. Scanner is $12.99/month. On iPhone, download PriceHUD from the App Store, live since 2026-09-20. On desktop, install the PriceHUD Chrome extension, live on the Chrome Web Store since 2026-09-15. One account and one monthly count work on both. The iPhone app needs a Dynamic Island: iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max, or any iPhone 15, 16, 17 or Air, on iOS 17.2 or later. On an older iPhone the price lands on the Lock Screen instead. There is no Android build yet. The free web lookup at pricehud.com/lookup needs no app at all. More answers: the PriceHUD FAQ.
